Cosmetology

is an introductory program which teaches all phases of Cosmetology, excluding hair cutting and sculptured nails.  The student acquires the basics in safety practices, shampooing, hairstyling, manicuring and pedicuring, basic facials, special effects makeup and basic makeup application, scalp treatments, nail tips, permanent waving and chemical relaxing, haircoloring, salon management (including web designing) and job skills.  Skills and knowledge acquired in this class can be applied to cosmetology, barbering, esthetics or special effects makeup artists.

Barbering

This course provides students with the skills and experience to shave, style, and trip mustaches and beards, and to cut, shampoo and style hair. Topics include hygiene, skin and scalp disease, and use of equipment. May aim to prepare students for the state's licensing examinations and may include topics similar to those included in Cosmetology courses.

Esthetics

This course offers information and experience related to skin care, the provision of facials, makeup application and facial massage. May also include topics such as hygiene and sanitation. human anatomy and skin conditions, entrepreneurship and /or human relations.
